The past couple of days we have spent time with the congregation of FUMC Winter Park as well as students of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.  Being able to stay in Winter Park for four nights was a huge blessing.  The people of their congregation were very welcoming and made us all feel at home.  They were generous in many ways, just one example was when they offered each member of the choir a pair of tennis shoes to take with us.  All in all we had a wonderful time while in Winter Park, FL.

  1. I was blessed by Daraja’s visit to FUMCWP. Since I am a teacher, I volunteered to help out a bit in their travelling school; and I was pleased to see the children progressing so well in their academic work. But on a more personal level, I was deeply touched as I participated in part of a devotional. The reverance, sincerity, and simplicity of the children’s prayer was humbling to me. For the past year or so, I have been praying “Lord teach us to pray” on behalf of myself and FUMCWP. God sent the Daraja children to be my teachers.
